Restylane and Juvederm are hyaluronic acid fillers that temporarily plump up mild to moderate wrinkles. Both products are infused with lidocaine to provide maximum comfort. Restylane and Juvederm are versatile fillers that can be injected into many areas. The most common areas include the smile lines, lips, underneath the eyes, and marionettes. However, they can be placed almost anywhere there is a loss volume: temples, hands, cheeks, acne scars, and many more.
How It Works
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is found naturally in the body – it is what hydrates and plumps up the skin. By placing the gel where HA is lacking, we are essentially restoring a vital ingredient back into the skin. Hyaluronic acid can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water, so its effects are both immediate and dramatic.
What To Expect
We will first examine the face and/or body part to determine which product is best. We’ll decide on the amount of syringes, thereby determining the level of volume correction we’d like to achieve. We will also see if adding in other injectables would maximize results. The actual procedure is a series of injections into the affected areas and takes about 15-30 minutes. Because of the infused lidocaine, the procedure is virtually painless. Results are instantaneous.
Length Of Results
Outcomes are determined by the product, the individual’s metabolism and location of product placement. Conventional fillers from Restylane and Juvederm, on average, last 6-9 months. Newer generation of fillers such as Juvederm Voluma can last up to 18 months. Individuals with fast metabolism are generally advised to expect shorter product life. Location is also a major component: fillers placed in the lips where muscles are moving constantly will not last as long as fillers injected underneath the eyes where there is minimal movement.
Number Of Treatments
The number of treatments is largely dependent upon how much one plans on correcting age-related volume loss, where the filler is placed, and how much product is used. Please visit us for a consultation and we will gladly assess your individual situation and needs, free of charge.
